Reviews:
Our son has been taking guitar lessons with Miko from past 4 years. We are really happy with his progress and enthusiasm, Miko always shows up on time, helped my son get into school Jazz band, gives music pieces that increases his passion for learning music as well. Miko always spends time to explain music and makes sure my son gets it before moving to next level. We highly recommend him if your kid has passion for music.
In just a few months, we’ve seen remarkable progress—not only in her guitar playing but also in her confidence and love for learning. Michael’s strong technical expertise, combined with his encouraging teaching style, has made all the difference. We truly couldn’t ask for a better instructor. Highly recommend Michael to anyone looking to introduce their child to the joy of music!

Biography:
Ever since I could remember, I was fascinated with music. Some of my earliest memories are of my mom and I singing along to Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” and U2’s “Pride” in the back of her minivan. This was the start of an obsession that would guide my path in life. At the age 9 years old I would “borrow” my brother’s Fender Stratocaster for group classes at school. I quickly outgrew these lessons, opting out to teach myself the electric guitar driven rock stylings of AC/DC and Led Zeppelin. By the time I reached my early teens, I began to taking formal lessons, practicing 6 to 8 hours a day, and touring regionally with my high school metal band.
As I matured, I wanted to understand harmony and composition on a deeper level. This brought me to Cal State East Bay, where I studied under jazz guitarist Nick Tocco and composer Inés Thiebaut, ultimately graduating with my B.A. in Music. For the past 8 years, I’ve spent my musical career teaching full-time as a private instructor while performing and touring for audiences across the U.S. and Europe.
